Rebel Wilson is an Australian Actor, Comedian, Singer, Producer and writer. Her full name is Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson. She was born on 2 March 1980 in Sydney, Australia. Her parents, Sue Bownds and Jack Bounds are professional dog handlers; and also, have been international dog show judges. Wilson has three siblings; She has a brother, who uses the name “Ryot, : sisters Liberty and Annaleise.

The Australian Actor, Rebel Wilson has had a strong reason which made her embark on a weight loss journey. She had a desire to become a mother. In one of the issues of People magazine, the Pitch Perfect actress spoke about an appointment she had with a fertility doctor to discuss about her desire to become a mom. The conversation she had with the doctor compelled her to take on the journey of losing weight.

She said, “He kind of looked me up and down and said, ‘Well, you’d do much better if you were healthier’,” Wilson shared. 

Wilson always felt she was nothing but healthy and there wasn’t any need to lose weight. However, the doctor debunked her views about her health.  She added, “I was a bit taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh, God. That guy is so rude’.”

However, soon she realized that what the doctor was saying was absolutely right.  

Furthermore, she said, “I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs and so that really inspired me to get healthier.” 

Rebel Wilson’s weight loss secret

The Australian star has been on the Mayr Method diet plan. This method is a 100-year-old diet plan founded by the Austrian physician Dr. Franz Xaver Mayr in the 1920s. This diet plan believes that improving your gut health in turn will improve your overall health and also promote weight loss. This method promotes chewing food thoroughly as the most important step to do which is also called mindful eating without any distractions.

The Mayr method is followed for 14 days only. However, some people extend it as well. In this method you have to totally avoid consuming sugar and caffeine. And limit intake of dairy products and gluten-based food. One is supposed to eat plenty of alkaline foods.

The program recommends eating your biggest meal early in the day. To stop eating once you feel full. Cooked food to be eaten only after 3 pm. Avoid having water during meals as that can affect your digestion. And one must not eat anything after 7 pm.

She has amazed her fans with her dedication in following the diet plan and losing weight considerably and looking so fit. She uploads her candid pictures on Instagram which in turn also shows the progress shes been doing.

Shes a woman who loves to celebrate her wins and proud moments. In one of the posts on Instagram, she wrote “You have to celebrate—life is short, and you just have to love and live it,” Wilson recently wrote in her 2021 wrap-up. “You know how I’ve been theming my years for the past few years? Well, this year was the Year of The Rainbow 🌈… after the storm always comes the rainbow,” she adds.

Wilson follows a high protein diet and tries to be consistent. She says, “Does this mean I eat healthy and clean every day? No, far from it,” she says. “But I am prioritizing where I can. If I go out to a restaurant, I’ll try the salmon, chicken breast. I don’t eat much meat, that’s why it was hard. I was mainly eating vegetarian. But now I really have to concentrate on it because my body just responds well to protein.”

She says, she’s in a maintenance mode. Ahe adds, “Nutritionally the only thing is, I do try to stay under 1,500 calories because again with my body type, if I want to lose weight in that week, I have to stay under 1,500 each day,” she says. “Now I’m going into more of a maintenance phase so it might be more like 2,000, 2,500 because I do workout like a beast, so I can eat a bit more now that I’ve hit my goal weight.”
